Boot Modifications
I'm just slaying...
Since I wear wide boots, traditional liners feel too narrow for my feet, and if I go a size up they no longer fit in my wide boots. So far what works for me are augmentations around the liner that came with my boot such as J bars around the ankles. I'm going to be trying the Deeluxe Heel Harness Pro that Ryan Knapton mentioned in one of his recent videos about foot pain.
Last week at the time I bought the product, the size large was the last in stock, so I oversized (I'm 8.5 US I should be size medium). I'm going to see if the large fits my wide boots and since it's larger, maybe it will be more power-efficient for my high back. I should be getting it this weekend.
I just checked the store because this forum reminded me about it. And they just restocked for both medium and large if you're curious. Knapton mentioned that they were only available on the Donek website unless you want to buy new Deeluxe boots. I Just ordered mediums to test the fittings, and I'll update this forum soon about the size fittings when I have both to compare.
@duckle Hello! I have used Deeluxe Heel Harness Pro and it was disappointing.
Knapton also gave me the idea of using soccer shin guards to keep my boots in place and look... I bought them with a built-in ankle support, it is quite padded and they give more volume than the J-bars.
For me, who has no idea about football, it has been quite a discovery!!! I haven't worn them yet, but the feeling along with the boots has been quite pleasant. In case you can help yourself!!

where could the Deeluxe Heel Harness help? for ankle support or will make the liners a little bit stiffer?
Only a snowboarder knows this feeling. And once you've felt it for yourself, it's impossible not to want more. It's so addictive that it should be illegal, but it's not and that's why they make such good snowboards that after riding them you want to sell everything and move to the mountains, because a man has to have a balance in his life, and that balance should be 80% snowboarding and 20% working.
So I just got both Deeluxe Heel Harness Pros delivered and gladly found out that each purchase comes in pairs. I was going to post an update tomorrow evening when I tried them out, but my friends and I had to cancel plans until next week. So I'm just posting what I observed about the harness this evening.
TLDR
I was hoping that the harness would change the feeling of my boots since they changed the feeling of my insoles, but after cranking my boots tight, I couldn't feel the difference at all.
If you have a steep posi-posi stance, using a shin guard on your front foot has a noticeable impact on your heel turns.
Size differences
The large size covers more surface area of the foot and goes higher on the calf of your leg. Though it has a longer string to pull and stow away in your boot.
The fit on both medium and large is negligible to me. The main difference that I barely noticed was that when I was leaning on my toes, I could feel a tiny bit more of the harness pushing on the insole on the base of the metatarsal, the area before the toes.
Phase 1: Harness and the Insole
The first thing I think should be noted is that the insoles that come with the K2 Maysis wide (size 8.5 wide US Boa boots) don't have great support as they only have velcro at the top of the tongue.
Wearing the harness on the insoles alone, I immediately noticed that they support your heel and ankle by wrapping your insole tighter to your leg. It also makes your insoles a tiny bit stiffer.
The big thing that I noticed is especially when I stand on my toes. My ankle is lifting less in my insoles and boots, which was my main issue with my boots.
Phase 2: Harness, insole, and boot
I took the harness off and put it back on about five times, trying to find any real differences in the feel of my boots during this phase. The harness didn't make the boot stiffer after I tightened my straps. I then strapped onto my snowboard and practiced toe turns. I was truly hoping that they would eliminate heel lifting, but they felt like they were moving the same distance without the harness.
@duckle This is to gain volume and hardness, you can guide the shin guard to place it on the tongue, also glue foam with a heat gun and reinforce it with American adhesive tape, because this foam always ends up coming off.
