How far is your dorsiflexion?

If you're having trouble getting higher edge angles on your heelside, this is something to consider.

Dorsiflexion isn't something I had ever thought about until a physiotherapist said that mine was limited and gave me some exercises.  I also picked up one of these:

My range of motion improved, and so did my riding!  I wish I had done a measurement to check where I started.  You can do the knee to wall test at home:

I'm now over 20 cm, which puts me around 72 deg. 

Not that I'm reaching those angles yet (lack of ankle strength), but it probably does give me some room to absorb some chatter.
