Can you tell if he’s goofy or regular?

His perspective on the twist (open hips):

I think his switch carving is remarkable, he’s set up ropes & a 2x4 to practice his stance and work on the muscle memory:

I'm pretty sure he rides +15/-15 and is an advocate for "mirror carving" - with that being said I think he might be regular based on this video for his tips on heel turns, he is standing in a regular stance. [MIRATORI] Tips for a heel turn.

I think that's an excellent idea. I will set up some ropes this summer and practice James stance and form. In his video he uses a 2X4 but also puts on his actual board. I think it will also help with the crunching and stretching of the obliques.

Thanks for the post @board-doctor!

I think this form and style is incredible and super inspiring! I got into learning how to hard carve after watching Ryan Knapton, but his style feels a bit boxy to me, and I’m not particularly into the whole elbow/Euro carve approach. This Miratori-Mirror style though, is something else entirely. I can’t do any of this (yet) especially riding switch, but it gives me real inspiration and something to work towards. I also love that he’s riding duck stance instead of posi/posi though nothing wrong with that of course, but it’s nice to see duck carving done at this level.

Looks like he’s also basically using a production board too. Not sure if there are any true twin boards out there that are wide and stiff enough for this kind of carving, maybe a custom Donek would work? It would be awesome if there were more options however, especially something with Titan or some secret sauce built in. Anyone know of any?

Would be super cool if JJA made a high-end twin specifically for this style. Not sure how many they’d sell, but it would definitely check all the boxes for me @wild-cherry ...

@bigwasabi If you go to his site and translate the subtitles of the video shown by the BoardDoctor he discusses his new signature board. You could maybe write him to get some specs.

Yeah he’s got his own line of boards from “Adrable”, with waists of at least 270:

Jasey-Jay was a racer and Cherry is a Freecarver, I don’t know if they’ve ever contemplated a twin for freestyle carving.  Donek & Knapton have been doing that for a while… Donek has been developing a Kona/Aloha twin as well.
