Why do sheets of Titanal max out at 310mm wide? Is there an industrial production reason or is it just what JJA and Bruce ordered? What would it take in terms of $$$ to source some that’s wider, like say 350mm wide? Could be transformative for the wide board game….

@parkcityguy Pretty sure it comes in 340mm wide rolls.  My understanding is that the minimum order is about 150k, so builders sometimes share a batch.  It also comes in two thicknesses, .3mm (T3) and .4mm (T4).

It would definitely be a dream to get wider sheets, but I will say that there's certainly a tradeoff with ultra wide boards.  I had a 31cm waisted Donek with as 12m sidecut and it was quite cumbersome.  Partly because it was a Donek, but also because it was so extremely wide.  And even at that width I could still boot out sometimes.

I think 340mm sheets is wide enough for most carving snowboarders, notwithstanding your mondo 29 boots...

Working on a new model for next season with a higher sidecut radius and less taper to reduce bootout while still staying under the 340mm limit.  I want to see how far we can reduce stiffness to compensate for the extra sidecut radius, and how far we can reduce the taper before tradeoff in easy initiation and turn exit becomes too costly.  I'll let you know how it goes.

Also working on risers specifically made for your wide C4 166.

I'm just slaying...
