Options for the JJA C4 166
@ronaldb yeah, those Burton heelcups are CHUNKY. Great measurements, what's the heel like without the cup?
Right now your total overhang is 51mm. With the C4 you'd get another 28mm underfoot, so you'd be down to 23mm total... or just 11.5mm per side. Even less when you get rid of those chunky heelcups. That's actually better than I had thought (assuming you keep those steep binding angles).
That'd be doable, but the C4 can certainly carve a deep trench and that might leave you wanting more width.

Checking to say hi to you all! My name is up for one of this batch (2/25). Excited to be part of this crew! We will see what James assigns me ;-). I’m 6’5”, #210, US11 boots. I ride Stevens Pass Washington if any of you are going to be there, make sure to say hey!
Cheers! Jeb
Posted by: @ronaldbI will look out then for the possibility for april or when the 175 goes in production.
The 175 will be a serious board in comparision with the 8,5m cheater vs the 14m sidecut..
@ronaldb That's a misunderstanding. We're still prototyping the 175. No estimate yet of when these might be available.
Instead of measuring the angle you can incline the board, measure the overhang with a carpenter's square or a cereal box. That 69 degrees is not accurate because your board is slicing into the snow, not pushing into the snow (it's penetrating along it's lateral axis perpendicular, plus the board is deflecting (decambering) so you lose more angle there). There's no way you can get this setup to 69 degrees on snow without boot drag, especially not soft snow.
Posted by: @sandor@wild-cherry does the new batch of C4's 166 mid flex have titanal? thanks
Of course! The C4 construction hasn't changed (though the resin has). It's the C3s that are the non-metal fiber boards. These are not available for sale yet.
I'm just slaying...
