The Jasey-Jay Anderson "Working Title" Carving Snowboard
Posted by: @wild-cherryPosted by: @maximelearningI saw the model number's now C4 - is "Corduroy Cutlass" the final name or is a survey for that going out too?
Yeah, I had to make an executive decision on that. The poll idea was good but complicated. C4 is the final name: Carvers Connection Corduroy Cutlass!
all good 👍 you guys should consider adding a year to the name as well, like C4-24 😃 also, I like the C4 bit… hope it’s dynamite 👊
@wild-cherryild-cherry I filled out the form - I ride a 51cm-53cm stance - so no issues. 143cm is the same as the Stranda Cheater but SCR is way different. I’m looking to push maximum g-force - I am a carvaholic😎 I just got my first day on Mats’ new Pipeliner2.0 and really loved the high speed capabilities of that board. I want the JJA C4 to be different than those two Stranda’s and my 3 custom Donek Flux boards. I would like to work towards making the tight pencil line turns that you throw down - so I’m thinking to go with the medium flex and EGS - I’m sure it will be a blast to ride😜🤪🚀 pic is from Ski Trackerthis Tuesday on the Pipeliner2.0 @ Loveland Basin
Posted by: @rocketman69so much fun to rip top to bottom - big high speed turns😎❤️🚀🎉
Wow! It tracks every turn??? Fantastic
@rocketman69: Greg? Is that you?
I'm just slaying...
@wild-cherry hi James - yes one of 22 runs - like 10:30 am when the frozen groomed started to get soft - an hour later turned back to slush. This was the second day on the new Standa Pipeliner2.0 - I was really enjoying it.
looking forward to the C4 - I do like my fast (25-30 mph) turn speed and love the max g-force and edge pressure - I’ll definitely do the EGS and am leaning towards the mid flex even at 225 lbs. What are your thoughts? I’m more about having a fun fast run than making perfect arcs. However - I do leave some monster trenches 😎
@rocketman69: 6' tall and 225lbs, advanced carver who likes speed and max g-force? Go for the stiff one with EGS, this one is meant for you.
I'm just slaying...
@wild-cherry perfect! Make mine Stiff w/ EGS secret sauce😎
thanks for all you are doing to help out the aspiring carvers - I really learned a lot from your Secrets video and have been working on several technique builders the last couple months. I realize that at 64 years old I’m likely to spend the rest of my riding days slowly refining my technique - especially heel side turns - rotate hips, crunch outside obliques, inside arm reaching away from the snow, outside arm forward and reaching for the top of my front foot boot. Bending knees and getting my butt down in the compression is a challenge but the Finishiation is the hardest - to commit to the Sponsorship Turn into heel side well is an infrequent event - but oh so cool.
thanks for the opportunity to get a JJA C4 too - my quiver will be complete❤️
Oh! You're the original @rocketman69 who is famous for riding with flares attached to your board! I remember you from SES 2010! (Or 2011?) Awesome!
Glad to help with your technique, I guess that's what I do now...
Your quiver is never complete though; next season we'll release a faster board for more satisfying turns! The shape might be similar but this one will minimize the track width for maximal conservation of energy and smoother, longer turns. I'm thinking of calling it "The Scalpel".
I'm just slaying...
@wild-cherry hi James - I’m not that rocket guy😎 - hope to continue to refine my carving techniques on JJA C4 - and hopefully the Scalpel too😎
I am known for my nighttime ESK8 rides - summertime carving simulator😊
I live in Europe and it is really hard to find wide soft boot boards for boot size 44 (10.5-11 US) and my current board, a Ride Profile 160 has only 250 mm waist, which I finally realized after seeing your videos is way too narrow for proper carving.
We don't get much snow where I go, and slopes are offent hard/ icy artificial snow.
I started snowboarding in '96 and have always been riding posi/posi, 15-20 deg. on the back, and 30+ on the front foot to get the heel and toes out of the snow as much as possible.
It has always been difficult for me to carve properly in soft conditions, so I decided to make some risers to minimize the toe-drag for this season and buy a new board next year.
I will save up some money and buy a suitable board for me. What board would you recommend, what board dimensions to aim for with my 188 cm (6.2), 85 kg easy riding free carving, moderate to high(er) speed, not too physical but not too easy, good edge grib on icy slopes ?
Would love to try a JJA board.
Cheers,
Rasmus
By the way, thanks for your super helpful videos, even for an old guy like me, there's still a lot to learn and focus on.
Carve hard !
... by the way, I have been using Flow Bindings (and boots) since I saw them 1. time in 1997.
My current 15 years old binding just got replaced with a NX2... really looking forward to try it out!
Can you post links for the other manufactures you know are making carving boards ?
How about Jones Boards, have you tried them ?
hmm... Jones boards are still narrow for a guy using EU 44

@carvehard check out Stranda and Korua. Some other members of the forum have them and have given their opinions on how they ride! Type either one in the forum search bar and it should show past messages
