This season I was teaching my friend to snowboard, he has progressed well but I believe equipment is holding him back. Currently using my old 2014 Ride Buckwild (Rocker, flat, rocker).  All my other boards are hardboot "race" style boards, he is using pretty compliant old hardboots and low binding angles so I thought it would be more appropriate to post here. Anyways, looking for a few good suggestions for second hand or new "mainstream" boards that could suit him. Just something stiff wide and long, not a custom carving board but something that will keep up with his progression.

Yeah...  At that size you're probably going to have to go custom.  Contact Carl at Exegi.ca, he makes a great all mountain and he's almost as big as your friend so he understands the specific needs of big men.

I'm just slaying...

@wild-cherry Thanks for the recommendation! It's his first year snowboarding (converted skier who got bored!) custom is definitely an option in the future. The problem I've found is that boards in the 160+ range have stupid wide minimum stance. I think any proper camber board will do him wonders but with the amount of weight he can throw around does necessitate something bespoke in the future.
