Hey,

I bought my first bindings- Flow nx2 carbon size M. But my problem is that the boot isn't centered in the binding and I have no idea how to adjust it.

Is it even possible to do so in those binding? There's an instruction manual, they say the boot should be centered- they don't show how to adjust it when it's not 😛

I got help from my local FB group and it looks much better now. They told me to adjust the straps while the highback is up but the lever hasn't been pulled up. The boot is now centered in the binding.

I am keeping this thread- maybe smb will use it idk.

Curious...  How does adjusting straps help center your boot?

From the photos, it looks like your binding is in the forward position.  There is another set of holes for both the cable and for the highback mount, by changing to those holes your boot should be more centered.  It's an easy adjustment.

I have trouble too centering my boot in my NX2 Carbon Fusions.  The forward position is better than than the rear position for my size 27 boots in a large binding, but I still have to turn my disks 90 degrees and pull the bindings toward the heel edge to center the boot/binding between the edges.

I'm just slaying...

I wasnt pushing the boot far enough. Right now when I pull the lever up I can feel it squishes my boot a bit but it feels secure in the highback even when I unstrap my boot (I have to pull my foot a bit harder than in "regular" bindings). So I guess it just helped with figuring out where the boot should be, not really adjusting it to fit the boot shape...

It looks like this rn. When I put my foot down in the binding the edge of my boot heel side rests where the foam on the binding starts (so quite far away I would say). It takes a bit of strength to tighten the highback then- so I don't think it's gonna be a "quick" putting on for me on the mountain if I want to make sure my boot is centered...

I will check this back position that you're talking about 🙂 probably that will make things much easier

@morgan It matters less how well the boot is centered on your bindings and more how well the boot is centered on the board.  Usually though, if you have the first then you have the second too.

You would probably have to turn your disks 90 degrees and pull the binding toward the heel edge because your boot looks to overhang the toe a lot more than the heel.

But first I would try adjusting the binding by using the other holes.  There are four screw holes per binding, two where the cable attaches to the heelcup mid-foot, and two where the highback hinges and the ankle straps connect.

Unlock the highback and move each screw to the hole beside it, one at a time.  You should be moving them all toward the heel.

Flow currently has their bindings at 50% off:

I know some people like them for heel-toe clearance.

Obviously you can't rotate the highback, and they really don't work over my instep, but it's a good deal for those that want to try!

@kagurasnowsurfer you've mentioned boot issues and a high arch...  f you've got a high instep and/or a dorsal midfoot exostosis (tarsal boss/humped bone) I'd proceed with caution.  I tried Cherry's and the strap(s) sit low over the instep.  I did a couple laps, but it was NOT comfortable for me.

@board-doctor Thank you for sharing your experience.  I am wondering if Cherry's Flow NX-2 Carbon's are hybrid or fusion. I have Nidecker Supermatics with the same hybrid strap as the NX-2's and have not have an issue regarding the instep. There is a part of me that is thinking that my instep issues are more a result of supination due to my bowlegged (genu varum) condition than a true high arch.

There is still a few pairs of the NX-2 Fuse available on the sale site.
I may have to try them on in Tokyo.
