Jones Freecarver 9000 Discussion
I live in Japan. Shipping from Rakuten is not an issue. 🤩 There are several Japanese shops with pre-orders for the new Bullet Train Plus.Posted by: @board-doctorThis is turning into a Bullet Train discussion… but it’s definitely back for 2025:

I don’t know what the shipping would cost, but if you get a Rakuten Global account they'll give you an internal mailing address and then send it on to you without any 3rd party involvement.
I may go that route though I usually prefer a lightly used one at a substantial discount. Same goes for a Jones Freecarver 9000.
Thank you (or should say "arigato gozaimasu") for the follow-up 👍

I didn’t know you were in Japan! I’m frugal and always shopping for deals. Unfortunately the Yen is rather low, which is good for others, but not so good for you. I just ordered another pair of the Flux CV-LTD bindings around 25% off. Hopefully going on a JJA C4! If you haven’t got a pair of bindings for the board that you’re looking for, I’d highly recommend them!
The regular CV might be fine on a 9000, but I’d put the LTD on the Bullet.

I will keep that binding in mind!

A little tidbit to keep in mind JJ rides a 154 Freecarver 6000 and a 160 Freecarver 9000.
He is 5'8" 150 lbs (173 cm, 68 kg) and his boots are US 8 (Mondo 26).
Here is an interesting article with his carving tips...

Found a brand new 160 Freecarver 9000 from a Japanese
wholesaler for 35% off. Thinking of taking the plunge...

That sounds like a good deal for a Freecarver. Check out the specs on a 163W Nitro Pantera too. It'll get you 270mm waist and no taper, unlike the Freecarver. You'll lose some EE though. And no 3D shaping, for better or worse. I've only hand flexed the 9000 in the shop, but it did seem quite a bit softer than the Pantera when new.
Well, folks. I pulled the trigger. The price ($430) was too
good to pass. Good starter board for a dedicated groomer carver,
I reckon. Thank you, for your comments and feedback...especially
@board-doctor Now I am looking for some Burton Driver boots.

I’ve never had Burton boots… I thought about the Driver X, but people are saying they’re not what they use to be. That boot designer is now with Bataleon.
I really like the Vans Verse, but they don’t have a great articulation point and I can feel them loosening up. I’m going to give my Ride Insano another chance, but they’re just not comfortable over my instep.
