Description
The DoubleWide is a dedicated directional carving board. Evolved from a World Cup Freeride design but tweaked specifically for the needs of the freecarver. Made for long smooth turns with pencil with line tracks, the DoubleWide will handle more speed, more edge pressure and more board angulation than any production board available.
It has the grip required to finish those perfect turns on even the steepest groomers without sacrificing that nimble ride quality that keeps carving fun. Exegi has struck a balance between responsiveness and forgiveness so that it’s fully capable of the turns you want to make yet easy to ride and confidence inspiring. The flex pattern is in perfect harmony with the shape, torsionally rigid between the inserts where you need it for edge hold yet soft enough in the nose to absorb the chop and in the tail to adjust the board’s trajectory.
The DoubleWide shines best at medium and high speed on perfect groom but the freeride qualities built in means it will handle a wide variety of conditions and terrain.
Construction
Exegi boards are arguably the toughest snowboards on the planet. The full carbon wrap and kevlar lacing are high performance proprietary construction methods that will beat standard sandwich construction for durability and longevity.
DuraSurf high graphite racing base under kevlar laced steel edges and VDS rubber, the horizontally laminated wood core is sandwiched between two layers of S-glass and fully wrapped in a +/- 45 degree carbon fiber burrito. Phase II resin is an intermediate modulus high strength (>10000 psi) resin system formulated specifically to reduce microcracking and associated core/facing delamination in skis and boards.
